It’s hard to Explain

The grief, the pain is hard to explain,
The memories, the smiles you gave,
But it’s only for a short time,
Till we meet again,
A gentleman with humour,
And not forgetting the Father in Law in a million.
Out of pain now for which I am glad.
But the legacy you leave is Dementia’s will be talked about and
people will know what it truly means.
The Christmas Cheer

It’s the Christmas Spirit arriving again.
Time we send wishes to all good men.
The Trees continue to be decorated with glee
Is it a star or a fairy?  But not for all as lots didn’t have a tree.
Instead houses were with candles and stars and the nativity scene.
Not much has changed from the 1940’s or 50’s
Apart from the street lights we see today.

However now presents given are piled up to the sky,
 Maybe exaggerated, but here’s why
Back then there were few presents and mainly it was clothes
But what meant allot were the family toasts,
Families important just as today, but it was different, as nothing got thrown away.
And most went to Church.

A small Chicken was eaten Christmas Day, poultry was a treat nothing more to say.
Oh yes and no Television, not like today, this time we spent chatting with games to fill our day.

Well with all that said I want you to have a lovely day
Pull crackers, sing songs and toast another day.
